Branko Milanović (1953), jedan od vodećih savremenih svetskih i srpskih ekonomista. Doktorirao je na Ekonomskom fakultetu u Beogradu tezom o ekonomskoj nejednakosti u Jugoslaviji 1987. godine. Od 1990. godine radi u istraživačkom departmanu Svetske banke u Vašingtonu, u odeljenju koje se bavi analizom siromaštva, nejednakosti i anketama o domaćinstvima. Predaje kao profesor po pozivu na Univerzitetu Džon Hopkins, a od 2005. i na Univerzitetu Marilend i Karnegijevoj zadužbini za međunarodni mir u Vašingtonu. Od 2014. godine predaje na Siti Univerzitetu u Njujorku. Autor je više knjiga, među kojima su i Income, Inequality, and Poverty during the Transition from Planned to Market Economy, World Bank, 1998 (prvi opšti pregled nejednakosti i siromaštva u vreme tranzicije) i Worlds Apart: Measuring Internationl and Global Inequality, Princeton University Press, 2005. U izdanju Akademske knjige objavljene su njegove knjige: Kapitalizam, sam. Budućnost sistema koji vlada svetom, Globalna nejednakost i Vizije nejednakosti. Od Francuske revolucije do kraja Hladnog rata. Živi u Njujorku.
